Ski VT with Me

Follow the adventures of a ski-aholic as she attempts to ski every resort in Vermont

8 VT ski resorts visited - 10 to go

I’ll be remaining up north for the next 2 weeks, hoping to find time to ski Burke and some of our smaller resorts, like Cochran’s, Suicide 6, Middlebury College Snow Bowl and Northeast Slopes.  I’ll be heading down south in February spending time at Mount Snow, and hope to drop in at Bromley, Stratton, Magic and Okemo while traveling through the state.

Day 15: Sugarbush, January 7, 2013

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the Mad River Valley.  It’s totally my comfort zone, since I used to work at Sugarbush.  We had a roller derby weekend January 5-6 and were joined by 90’s man and Millenium man as we bummed around SB and MRG.

Early Season Ventures… Countdown 13 To Go

I started my quest to ski all 18 alpine ski resorts On November 10th at Killington Resort. It’s definitely one of my earliest days on a lift accessed slope in awhile and it turned out to be beyond my expectations. Killington had over 20 trails open and the snowmaking was supreme. I enjoyed myself so much, that I went there again on the epic day that was November 17th.  Part of a posse, we venture not only to K-ton, but also Sugarbush (round 3pm) and then hit up the Meatheads showing of No Matter What in Waitsfield.

A mid-week day at Stowe and Saturday at Jay Peak after some snowfall were by far my best days so far, with great conditions and even a little natural terrain.  Finally, I hit up Smugglers’ Notch just the past Saturday 12/8, got in a few runs and went straight to Brewfest, their annual beer celebration.

All in all - I’ve been to 5 ski resorts before mid-December, not bad!  13 to go!
